For students and their families, the transition to school is a significant milestone in a student's education. Murgon State High School work together with families to help students experience a positive transition to secondary school. Murgon State High School caters for the transition of students from primary school (Year 6) to secondary (Year 7) and also from P–10 schools into senior secondary education at year eleven. Murgon State High Schools works closely with our local cluster schools on a clear positive transition.

Murgon State High School endeavours to ensure families feel connected to the school including teachers, principal and support staff throughout the transition process. Building this relationship with the school prior to commencement helps build open communication and trust between parents and school community. As part of the transition process, Murgon State High School discusses with students their expectations of transition, provides information to parents/caregivers regarding the transition experience, gains information about a student's strengths and needs with their previous school to better cater for their learning and encourages students to become familiar with their new school environment. Several opportunities are available for students to visit Murgon State High School in the form of orientation/transition days and parent information evenings each year.

By completing an 'Intention to Enrol at MSHS' form and returning to the Murgon State High School office you are completing the first stage of transition. If you have any questions regarding transition please contact either the Deputy Principal Junior School or Deputy Principal Senior School on 07 4169 9222.
