Murgon State High School is on an attractively landscaped property and includes a 42 hectare farm. We support all students in finding an appropriate educational pathway. Success will look different for every student – some will go onto higher education, others to vocational training and some straight into employment.

We foster the belief in the worth of effort and the value of striving towards personal and educational goals for all our students. We are committed to positive behaviours through our guiding principles of participation, respect, and responsibility and safe and legal. The school manages behaviour using Positive Behaviour Learning (PBL) which acknowledges positive students achievements with rewards throughout the year.

Murgon students attain high standards of academic achievement, with over 62% of our OP eligible securing an OP1-15. Education at Murgon State High School is understanding, tolerance and friendship whilst delivering the unique cross-cultural education.

Murgon State High school has:

All areas of the school are equipped with latest teaching technology including broadband wireless technology.

Students undertake an extensive work experience program in years 10 and 11. We have a Work Placement Officer (PDF, 234KB) who coordinates our School Based Apprenticeship Traineeship Program. We also have a full time Youth and Transition Coordinator (PDF, 181KB) supporting every student to various vocational pathways and a full time attendance officer.

We have a school nurse who provides advice and assistance on health matters to all students. Two full-time Community Education Counsellors (PDF, 176KB) liaising with the community on academic, social and emotional and behavioural matters. We have a guidance officer providing support on career counselling as well as social and emotional support.
